Anyone walking around the Sports Centre of the Radboud University in Nijmegen will come across many GreenMatter products. For Radboud University Nijmegen, sustainability is an important spearhead for the short and long term. As Coordinator Sports Facility Management, Marco van Beuningen likes to think along about how we can achieve a sustainable sports sector together.
This is how he came up with the idea to have us make mobile benches from recycled artificial grass for the tennis courts. After some design drawings, the mobile benches were finally delivered to the tennis courts of the Radboud Sports Centre, and we were able to add a great new product to the GreenMatter delivery programme.
In addition to the 12 tennis courts, the university also has two football fields, which are equipped with GreenMatter side boards and brush mats. By purchasing these products, Radboud University also takes its responsibility regarding the duty of care.
After sports, students can take a seat at the picnic tables made of recycled artificial grass on the terrace. Besides students, employees, individuals and companies also use the sports facilities, with a choice of 80 different sports. In addition, 40 student sports clubs can be found on the Sports Centre complex every day.
Marco van Beuningen experiences the collaboration with GreenMatter as very pleasant. The development of a new and successful product together is worth repeating. From the student sports associations as well as other users, we get rave reviews about GreenMatter products. We still have a number of ideas for which we would like to use GreenMatter products in the coming years.
