At SV Zeist, recycled artificial turf is being given a new lease of life in several places. In collaboration with Zeist Council and carried out by the council’s own staff, various items of street furniture have been installed in and around the sports ground.
From raised benches and picnic tables to bollards, cycle racks and grandstand seating; all made from raw materials sourced from worn-out artificial turf pitches. A fine example of how circularity can be both visible and practically applied within public spaces and sports grounds.
In total, around 4,540 kilograms of artificial turf has been reprocessed within this project into sustainable facilities with a long lifespan.
